Chemotaxis has been defined as a cellular migration toward a chemical stimulus. The phenomenon has been used extensively in studies of the immune reaction mechanism.

With their characteristic straight-through, cylindrical pores, Polycarbonate chemotaxis membranes allow rapid cell migration and reduce incubation time. This also eliminates the need to sterilize the chemotaxis holders and membranes.

Polycarbonate membrane PVP free filters are identical to the standard PCTE filters except they are manufactured without the wetting agent, polyvinylpyrrolidone, (PVP). As a result they are considerably more hydrophobic than standard membranes. They also have a typical water contact angles that range from 70° to 90°.

  • Easily located with cell attachment gels
  • Cells are easily removed from the surface of the membrane without damage to the organism
