Life Science Diamond Knives

SPI offers the electron microscopist and ultramicrotomists the ultimate in Life Science Diamond Knives. On a "blind" test, it is just not possible to tell even the slightest difference between the SPI Supplies Life Science Diamond Knife and those carrying a "name brand" and costing far more.

When an SPI Supplies life science diamond knife is ordered, unless otherwise specified, will be shipped with boat Style "S". Unless otherwise specified, it will also be shipped with the "default" angle of 45°. Please be sure to read our section on selecting the right diamond knife.

For use with frozen specimens sectioned wet with liquids like ethylene glycol

For use with frozen specimens sectioned dry

Thick/Thin sectioning

For thick sections or alternating thick/thin sections

Each SPI Supplies Life Science Diamond knife is rigorously inspected before final package sealing and shipping. This testing involves a TEM inspection of sections cut with the new knife because SPI wants to make sure that we ourselves are conducting a rigorous quality assurance program on our own end and are not going to be relying on our customers to serve as our quality control laboratory!
