SPI Uniform Microspheres for Microscope Calibration

Use for all forms of microscopy, TEM, SEM, LM, SPM, Confocal, etc.

The main purpose of the SPI Supplies^® Brand of borosilicate glass uniform size microspheres is for calibration of light, electron and other types of microscopes. Hence, precise control of the composition of the glass being used is not tightly controlled.

However, for those who do require at least some compositional information, we can provide this "nominal" data, but the exact data for a precise lot might vary.

SiO₂	52.5 %
Na₂O	0.3 %
CaO	22.5 %
MgO	1.2 %
Al₂O₃	14.5 %
FeO/Fe₂O₃	0.2 %
K₂O	0.2 %
B₂O₃	8.6 %

These percentages even add up to 100% but perhaps fortuitously. We can not guarantee the analysis, but the true composition should be close.
