This is a reflected light micrograph of a polished, carbon coated synthetic bismuth selenide crystals. The identifying etched label, which is a feature of our standards, is invaluable for navigating in an electron beam instrument. The crystals are platy and hence appear elongated or curved when mounted and polished. It is included in this set because it provides reference for the elements bismuth and selenium.
