The construction of this magnifier is very similar to that of the MAG 6. The top (black area) contains the distortion free glass lens, and around the outside is a rubber focussing grip. The main body of the magnifier is "enamel white" and the base is a clear plastic sleeve to permit adequate light for viewing, even without any other illumination sources or a light box. The very bottom is a black retaining right which holds in the appropriate reticle. Note that the reticles are "calibrated" with respect to the magnifier so the reticle that would be for the MAG 6 would not work in the MAG 7. They might look the same but they are not the same and they are not interchangeable.

Graticules MAG 7 Inspection Magnifier - 4x: Reticle not available for this model.

 Specifications:

  • Magnification: 4x
  • Height: 95 mm
  • Field of view: 63 mm
  • Overall diameter: 70 mm

The MAG 7 Measuring Magnifier is very popular for with anyone doing the same types of work discussed for the MAG 6, but here the field of view is larger but the magnification is lower. Again, the robust construction virtually guarantees that the magnifier will have a virtually unlimited life time of use.

Description of the reticle:
The reticles for the MAG 7 come with black metallized opaque lines, which is the option best suited for white backgrounds. The magnifier is also available with patterns in either red or white on special request and at a higher price. Call for price and delivery.

Graticules MAG 7 Inspection Magnifier - 4x
The very top of this magnifier (black area) contains the distortion free glass lens, and around the outside is a rubber focussing grip. The main body of the magnifier is "enamel white" and the base is a clear plastic sleeve to permit adequate light for viewing, even without any other illumination sources or a light box. What makes this an inspection magnifier and not a measuring magnifier is that there is no provision to attach a reticle.

So if you are not going to be making any quantitative measurements, the "inspection" model is going to work just as well for you and is lower in cost.

Leatherette carrying case:
The magnifier is supplied with a hardy leather carrying case to protect the instrument against accidental breakage due to dropping.
