Acceptance of UNESCO Coupons
Please be sure you follow our instructions before placing orders to be paid with
UNESCO coupons.
SPI Supplies is happy to accept UNESCO coupons for the payment of scientific
goods and books that are covered by the
UNESCO coupon program.
We ask that you follow these simple steps so that the ordering and payment
process go smoothly:
1. Make certain you are
familiar with the policies of the UNESCO Coupon program as they
pertain to the use and redemption of UNESCO coupons. However SPI Supplies does reserve the
right to be the sole decision maker if there is some question of appropriateness. For example,
someone purchasing ten gold cathodes for a sputter coater would be questioned about
appropriateness.
2. Virtually all products offered by SPI Supplies could be considered
either scientific supplies or books both categories of which can be paid for
with UNESCO coupons. Hence so long as you are purchasing products off the
SPI Supplies website, we are unaware of any that would be prohibited for
payment with UNESCO coupons.
3. Use the website Shopping Cart. As we say here, "shop til you drop", and
put into the cart everything you feel you would be wanting to purchase. As
the cart fills up, you are being kept informed of the growth of the FOB
value of the order thus far. You can easily modify the order by taking
items out of the cart or putting some back into the cart. You have full
control of your shopping! When you think you are finished, click on "Check Out"
and that will take you to the actual order form. Be sure you remember to do
these two things: At the top, be sure to check off the option "Quote" instead
of "Order". And at the bottom, for "Method of Payment", use the drop down window
and select "UNESCO Coupons".
You will receive an electron pro forma invoice within twenty four
hours. It will clearly state the FOB total and also the total for shipping/handling/insurance.
There will also be a separate charge of US $20 for covering the courier fee we have to pay
to send the UNESCO Coupons to the redemption center for our own payment. But the full fee
that is taken out of our payment, which can be as high as 5%, will be paid solely by SPI
Supplies and not by customers of SPI Supplies.
4. SPI Supplies reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any proffered UNESCO coupons
for whatever the reason. This kind of circumstance should never occur. However, should
the coupons appear excessively old or outdated or should SPI Supplies have legitimate
questions about the purchase's right to purchase with the coupons, then SPI Supplies
reserves the sole right to not accept the coupons as payment.
5. Send all coupons via courier or if through the postal system then be sure that it is
sent via some secure way (e.g. "registered") and that it can be followed with a tracking
number. If you have questions about their acceptance, FAX copies of them to
Ms. Shelley
Sibley and she will give you an early answer as to whether they can or can not be
accepted.
6. SPI Supplies will not allow the UNESCO coupons to be used as payment for any items,
either in the regular SPI product line or something ordered special if it is deemed by
SPI Supplies to be outside of the definition of books and scientific goods. If we feel
we are being asked to become a party to a fraud on the program, SPI Supplies retains the
right to cancel our commitment to ship an order. We strongly believe in the philosophy
behind the UNESCO coupon program and we want to do everything to perpetuate the
existence of the program.
7. Be sure to find out if you are in a country that permits the importation of scientific
goods and books duty free that have been purchased under the UNESCO coupon program. If you
are, then be sure to request that we apply the special label to the parcel mentioning that
the shipment should be customs duty tax free.
We know that many firms in the microscopy and microanalysis market do not accept UNESCO
coupons. However, we welcome this business and over the years, it has been our own
experience that we have gotten some very loyal customers as a result. We are always
open to suggestions should you care to make any to us, relative to how we, at SPI Supplies
administer the UNESCO coupon program.
8. Our ability to accept UNESCO coupons is confined to end users and end user institutions,
and we can not accept UNESCO coupons as payment from any intermediaries or distributors.
If you are working in a laboratory and have UNESCO coupons, we want you to know that you
have a friend in SPI Supplies. We are happy to go through this slight amount of additional
work to complete an order being paid for with UNESCO coupons.
