SPI Supplies will make shipments to any bona fide business or institutional address provided full street address is provided.
Often times we are asked to make shipments to either a) private residences or b) hotel addresses. We will be happy to do that provided the shipment does not contain any dangerous items or HAZMATS. We consider a Style #5 tweezers, in the hands of a child to be just as dangerous of a weapon with regard to their eyes as a loaded gun and we absolutely do not want to contribute to the possible injury of a child. Similarly, we do not want to be responsible for injury should a HAZMAT,such as osmium tetroxide or glutaraldehyde fall into the hands of an untrained person. If you feel this aspect of our own shipping policy is unduly restrictive, talk to us about your concerns because in the end, we will rule on each situation on a case by case situation.
Under no circumstances will we ever want to be a part to assisting someone in the carriage of a HAZMAT onto a commercial aircraft without proper declaration. If we even remotely suspect that a proposed order going to a private residence or a hotel could end up being carried illegally on a commercial aircraft, we will decline to accept the order. We are sure there is widespread support for this particular aspect of our policy.
Structure Probe, Inc. also has a "Zero tolerance for drugs in the workplace" policy. Similarly, we will not knowingly want to become a party of any kind of illegal activity, be it drug related or any other type of illicit endeavor. Certain of our items are widely used in certain illicit activities. Please don't feel offended if we should request further information about the legitimacy of use of any order you might place with SPI Supplies.
Examples of orders that could raise "red flags" on our end: Large orders of gelatin capsules from a customer not previously know to us. Or large quantities of glassine envelopes under similar circumstances.
