Foreign Shipments
Our customers have the complete freedom to place their orders via our
local distributor or agent or to place the order directly with SPI in the
USA. These Terms and Conditions, as they would apply to foreign orders,
apply only for those orders placed directly with SPI Supplies. For orders
placed with local agents and distributors, then their own terms and
conditions would apply as determined by local laws and customs.
Foreign shipments sometimes require enough extra documentation and paper
work and sometimes extraordinary packaging as to require additional fees.
Such charges are always predictable, however, and will always be separately
stated on pro forma invoices.
Some form of prepayment is always required unless a credit account has been
opened up for your institution. In the absence of a credit account, orders
are processed only on the basis of some form of prepayment, which for
smaller orders, the method of convenience is either via the use of a credit
card or bank draft in U. S. dollars drawn on a US bank. Wire transfers can also be
made. However, bank charges incurred on our end will always be for the
account of the issuer. Special notice: Wire transfers to our account from
outside the U.S.A., in US dollars, are charged a $30.00 bank fee. If you are
making your payment this way, be sure to add this $30.00 bank charge. Remember
that payments made by bank check or draft, in US dollars, draw on a US bank,
or payment by credit card, proceed without the assessment if any additional
fees.
Alternatively, especially for larger orders, an irrevocable letter of credit,
confirmed in the USA by a US bank is then required. More often than not,
complexities of payment can be solved instantly by contacting your nearby
local SPI Supplies distributor.
Please note:
All website prices are given in US dollars. Charges made to credit cards
with accounts in some other currency will be charged to the purchaser after
conversion of the US dollar amount into their own local currency.
