Individual replacement bottles (any Series A liquid)Be sure to specify exact refractive index desired in the Comments Section of the Order form!

Range: 1.460 to 1.640. Adjusted to ± 0.0002. Stable, colorless at the low end and increasing to faint yellow at the high end.

Composition: Aliphatic hydrocarbons as well as other organic compounds. They are not aqueous based.

Compatibilities: They do appear to be compatible with Plexiglas® or Lucite® acrylics at 25° C.

Absorption information: The Series A Set covers 91 liquids and the transmission values are a function of refractive index, so they vary liquid to liquid. Fortunately, this change is not very great and for most users, is not an issue. But there is a difference in transmission depending on the length of the path. In general, at 480 nm, at a path length of 1mm, the transmittance is nearly 100%, at 1cm this value drops to between 86 to 98% and at 10cm this value drops further to between 23 to 80%. Specially matched refractive index fluids for specific applications are also available. These have been precisely matched are not in general a part of the Series A kit.

A full set of Series A liquids contains a total of 91 different liquids and a half set contains 46 liquids. Each bottle contains 0.25 fl. oz. Listing of nominal refractive index values included in full kit given below, * indicates liquids provided in half kit:

NOTE: For ordering purposes:
The 0.25oz (7ml) bottle size (Standard) has one part number and the RI value needs to be specified.
The 1 oz (30 ml) bottle size (Economy) has one part number and the RI value needs to be specified.

The 4oz bottle size (Bulk) has seven part numbers depending on the subset range of Series A you wish to order. You will still need to specify the RI value.
