Osmium Plasma Coater OPC-80T with 80 mm Chamber for Osmium and Carbon Deposition 100v/60 Hz:

The OPC-80T is designed to operate only in the fully operational mode whether depositing osmium metal or carbon. The sources for the osmium and carbon, respectively, are glass ampoules of osmium tetroxide and the source of the carbon is technical grade naphthalene. The osmium metal coatings are completely amorphous and are also structureless and featureless. The deposited coating of osmium metal is ideal for the preparation of samples for SEM and the carbon coating, for EDS analysis. But the important point is that this system has no option for manual operation.

The source of the osmium is osmium tetroxide in sealed glass ampoules and the source of the carbon is the sublimation of naphthalene.

Select between holes to accommodate either four 10 mm round cylindrical mounts or four 15mm round cylindrical mounts. Other options are available upon request.

Warranty:
One year, parts and labor

Installation:
Like with other systems manufactured and distributed by SPI, our philosophy is to design a system in a way that, with good set up instructions, a user can literally take it out of the box, follow some easy set up instructions and be on his way in a few hours, all without the need for a costly service engineer to be present to do this for the customer. Our in-house technical people are skilled in the use of both the OPC-60N and the OPC-80T and they have received training from the manufacturer so that a high level of technical support can be provided from our world-wide headquarters in suburban Philadelphia, PA USA. Note that some of our worldwide distributors have also received this training and can provide a competent service and technical support. After all, if they can service one of today's modern column instruments, they could service one of these coating units almost blindfolded! See our video for the assembly operation.

Installation requirements:
Nothing really special is needed in the way of power requirements, cooling water is not needed, however, the unit should be placed on a solid table top surface during operation. Also a conventional rotary vane ("mechanical") pump is needed, as indicated below. We price the system without the pump since so many of our customers have extra pumps around their laboratories.

Power requirements:

  • 100/110volts 50/60Hz 10 amps
  • 220/240volts 50 Hz 5 amps

Power Consumption: 1.2 KW

Dimensions:

  • Front dimension (Width): 48 cm
  • Depth: 42
  • Height (without chamber): 26
  • Height (with chamber): 41
