Liqui-Nox Precision Liquid Detergent is a concentrated, anionic liquid product formulated for either manual or ultrasonic use. It has furthermore been designed to be free rinsing (e.g. easily rinse off in running water) to yield completely residue free surfaces. It is extremely mild and completely soluble in hard and soft water. In most respects, it produces the same kind of end result as Alconox® Powdered Detergent but without the inconvenience of having to dissolve the powder first. USDA authorized. It is considered phosphate free, biodegradable, and exceptionally mild to skin. Although originally designed for laboratory use, a wide range of other applications now exist for this product.
Remember that Liqui-Nox is not "low foaming" and is to be used only manually and not in automated cleaners or processors. If your requirement is for use in automated equipment, then you should be consideringSolujet® low foaming pho
Liqui-Nox® does not contain ammonia. It does, however, contain EDTA "ethylene diamine tetra acetate". However, EDTA will not be detected or interfere with a Kjeldahl nitrogen determination.
Liqui-Nox® in concentrated form will not support bacterial growth, but many users pre-dilute to a "working" solution, and that will support bacterial growth. The bacteria may produce ammonia when they eat the EDTA, so in that instance, a positive reading on total nitrogen could indeed be indicative at least to some degree of the presence of nitrogen.
We are often times asked about the shelf life of this product because of some of the critical applications in which it is used. Officially, it is one year, from the date of shipment from SPI Supplies, which corresponds to the date for which the performance is guaranteed by the manufacturer. The product is also guaranteed in terms of its performance for two years after manufacturing, which ever date comes first.
These shelf lives are very conservatively stated and noticeable degradation takes much longer, and the products will continue to work for a long time after they have technically expired, although the degradation will show up in very careful side-by-side comparative testing.
Final solution will have a pH of 8.5
