Interpretation of "In Stock" Information

Stock availability information:
SPI Supplies now offers on-line stock availability information. We are the
first in the world offering electron microscope sample preparation equipment
and related consumable supplies to offer this kind of information to our
on-line customers. We hope you will find this information useful and that
when you see that a product is "in stock", that you will have the added
confidence that a prompt shipment is indeed possible.
However, we want to caution our customers about the following:
- Should you see a "Yes" for current stock, there could be a chance that
some other customer would have already "claimed" it but the stock availability
would not have been updated to reflect that sale.
- Some of our products are assembled from components, for example,
some of our embedding resin kits and of course our modular sputter/carbon
coater system. The full kits as well as the sputter coater systems
generally show "No" for current stock availability but in most instances they actually are in
stock, but we have not created the software that would enable us to show
real time inventory availability of such of those products.
- Some items are literally produced to order and are always showing
as being "No" in terms of stock. Major equipment like our OPC line of Osmium Plasma
Coaters are made to order. Also custom coated carbon coated grids are made
to order so that they will possess the very highest hydrophilic nature. But
once an order is received, the shipping date is confirmed.
- We are constantly producing new product to put on into inventory
and very often a product showing "no stock" is only one or two days away
from being in stock available for shipment. If you see a stock situation of "No" for one
or more items, let us know the products you want to order
and we will respond back and give you a firm shipping date.
