Braycote® Micronic 803 Perfluoroether Vacuum Grease

Additional technical information

Description:
Braycote® 803 is a smooth, buttery, translucent-white NLGI #2 grease, based on perfluoropolyether oil (Brayco® 812) and thickened with a polytetrafluoroethylene gelling agent. Braycote Micronic 803 is thermally stable in air, vacuum, strong acids, and oxidizers.

Temperature Range:
Below -63° C to above 232° C (below -80° F to above 499° F). Lower temperature operation below -63° C (-80° F) is possible when adequate torque is available.

Uses:
Braycote® Micronic 803 was developed for those applications in which long term exposure to high temperatures, or hard vacuum is expected. Braycote® Micronic 803 is fully compatible for use in both direct and indirect contact with liquid and gaseous oxygen (LOX/GOX). Perfluorinated greases, in general, exhibit excellent shelf lives due to their intrinsic inertness.

Limitations:
Braycote® Micronic 803 is compatible with all commonly used construction materials including metals, plastics, and elastomers. It may be adversely affected by Lewis Acids such as aluminum chloride, at elevated temperatures. Newly exposed rubbing surfaces of aluminum, magnesium or titanium alloys at elevated temperatures may react with Braycote® Micronic 803 under certain conditions. Such systems should be thoroughly evaluated. Surfaces must be well cleaned of organic rust inhibitors prior to grease application to insure proper lubrication.

Packaging:
Braycote® Micronic 803 is available from SPI Supplies in a variety of package sizes, ranging from 10 grams up to 1 pound plastic jars and 15 pound plastic pails.

Other information:
SPI Supplies offers as standard product the Braycote® Micronic 803. Essentially the same product is available, for a slightly lower price without the final filtration that the product undergoes to become "Micronic" 803. It is also available with a "rust preventative" additive, and is should be requested as Braycote® 803RP.
