Spectrographic analyses were conducted on Apiezon L and these results do
indeed show that this particular Apiezon product is indeed "free" of sodium.
Apiezon M grease is manufactured from the same raw materials and we would
therefore expect the trace elements to be similar. These greases however
are made by the molecular distillation of petrolatum, a natural product,
and there is some variation, but only at the ppm levels. None of the
analyses have ever picked up sodium, surprising, as it is usually present
in trace quantities in most materials. |
