Braycote® 600EF Series Vacuum Grease
Some comments on off-gassing characteristics
We are often times asked about whether off-gassing tests are run regularly on the various products.
Off-gassing tests are run on each lot of base oil, Castrol Brayco® 815z,
and which is reported in the Cof A, if requested at the time of order placement.
Off-gassing tests are not regularly done on the finished Braycote 600EF product.
However, off-gassing tests are done on each lot of Braycote 601EF.
Braycote 601 EF has the identical components as Braycote 600 EF, but 601EF has the corrosion
inhibiting additive. Based on the outgassing results of the base oil and Braycote 601 EF, the
Braycote 600 EF results would also meet the 1.0 TML and 0.1% CVCM guideline used by a number of
customers in the aerospace and electronics industry. Normally, the outgassing results of the
finished grease are lower than those of the base oil used to make the grease.
