Introduction:

Welcome to the internet's largest offering of high quality tweezers. They are not being offered because they are the cheapest, but they are being offered because they are the very highest quality of their respective type that money can buy today. And in many instances, we present tweezers for which SPI Supplies is the only source. If you are interested in metal tweezers and already know the "Style" number (e.g. Style #5), start with our Quick Locator Page by Tweezer Type. We are now offering the world’s finest and highest quality “cosmetics” tweezers by Dumont.

How did we get started?

Our initial start as a business was to serve the market of operators of electron microscopes and electron microscope laboratories. We maintain that there is no demographics in the world that has more demanding requirements than someone handling a sample for preparation for or insertion into an electron microscope. Most tweezers produced in the world today can not be "pick up" a standard electron microscope grid. As our reputation spread and our satisfied customers "spread the word", more and more customers started realizing that they could get the quality they need at SPI Supplies without paying some of the outrageous prices being charged by others. Of course now we have competitors who try to match our pricing, but no one can make offer better quality tweezers than SPI Supplies.

Most of the tweezers sold by SPI are made in Switzerland. We have found the Swiss-made tweezers to be without doubt, the very highest quality for tweezers anywhere in the world. At this point in time, all gold plating and PTFE® coating of tweezers is also done in Switzerland and for the same reason: We just have not found anywhere in the world that can match the high Swiss quality. The manufacturing origin is stamped "Switzerland" on all SPI tweezers. There are a few exceptions to this statement including

We realize that not everyone has either the need or the budget for what we consider to be the ultimate tweezer quality in the world. But the typical SPI Supplies customer is a careful researcher or worker in high technology industry or academia where only the best available can be consider. Indeed anyone working in areas where critical applications such as hospital histology laboratories always demand the very best no matter what might be the price. If you feel you do not require this high quality, but do need tweezers just the same, we would invite you to consider our StudenTek™ tweezer offerings.

We consider the StudenTek quality tweezers to be quite acceptable for most classroom settings, high school science class applications, and other situations not requiring the very highest precision, corrosion resistance, or antimagnetic characteristics.

The purchase of an SPI metal tweezer is an investment and should be protected. That is why each SPI metal tweezer is individually packaged in its own special plastic carrying box, with non-particulating plastic foam for protection. We also recommend the use of the SPI Supplies Brand Tweezer Holder in order to protect your investment in tweezers and extend their useful lifetimes.

A word about safety:

All pointed metal tweezers are sharp enough to poke out an eye or cause serious puncture wounds anywhere on the body. We recommend that anyone using high precision tweezers discourage any "horsing around" in their immediate work area when holding or using these potentially dangerous instruments. Safety glasses (or some other form of approved eye protection) should always be worn to eliminate any chance of injury to one's eyes. The high precision tweezers described on the SPI Supplies website are absolutely not designed to be cosmetic tweezers and should not be used for that purpose, such as the plucking of eye lashes or the removal of slivers. And last but not least, never ever take a pair of these tweezers "home" with you where a small child could possibly gain access to it and cause injury to himself or others.
