SPI Supplies® Brand Plastic Tweezers
Precision Molded Plastic and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tweezers and forceps
These plastic tweezers come in basically three forms, high precision molded nonconductive,
high precision molded conductive ESD compatible, and moldable PTFE for maximum thermal
insulation characteristics and also, maximum chemical resistance.
Molded Plastic Tweezers
These plastic tweezers are a very affordable solution to many of your critical laboratory needs.
They are available in two different forms, a white nonconductive plastic and also, a carbon black
filled formulation for maximum ESD (Electro Static Discharge) compatibility. Both types are rigid
and precise tools and are 100% free from magnetism and, considering that they are plastic, are also
highly resistant to wear. And unlike metal tweezers, these tips wouldn't bend out of shape and are
the ideal solution when your sample must be absolutely metal free. The handling of delicate electron
or light microscope parts with plastic instead of metal tweezers is the better way, ask any service
engineer! For the handling of the Wehnelt assembly alone, the use of plastic tweezers eliminate the
possibility for scratching and reduces the chances of other kinds of damage as well.
Non-conductive White-Plastic
Highly insulating, relatively (for a plastic) high temperature resistance
up to 200° C and they are molded from glass fiber filled polyethylene
terephthalate. Ideal for handling charged coupled devices, since the
"charge" is much less likely to be discharged when handled with a
nonconductive tweezer. For life science uses, tweezers can be autoclaved
for multiple uses.
Molded from carbon black filled plastic
The ESD (Electro Static Discharge) Compatible Black Plastic Tweezers are temperature resistant
up to 180 C, are molded from a unique formulation of a glass fiber reinforced polyamide and has
10 ohms resistivity.
