Parafilm M can be sterilized by either radiation or chemical approaches.
Parafilm M® can be sterilized with 10 megarads of radiation. It should not be effected by the normal levels of radiation used for sterilization.
Parafilm M can also be sterilized with ethylene oxide gas using a process that does not take the temperature of Parafilm M above 120° C (248° F). Another approach is to dip Parafilm M in warm hydrogen peroxide for about 15 seconds.
Parafilm M can be stored long term once sterilized but the long term storage temperature upper limit is about 38° C (100° F)
