Cryo-Gloves® Cryogenic Liquid Handling Gloves

These gloves are not for use with liquid oxygen!

Spanish

A note of caution:

As our customers normally handle it, liquid nitrogen is a boiling liquid; part of the insulation system of liquid nitrogen is the vapor blanket formed by the gas coming off the boiling liquid, and this greatly reduces the amount of liquid nitrogen that actually penetrates into the glove. Liquid oxygen, however, is not necessarily handled as a boiling liquid, so it is likely to be at a much lower temperature, with less vapor blanket protection. This allows the liquid to penetrate into the glove more easily. As a result, gloves for liquid oxygen are a much more complex system than gloves for liquid nitrogen. Cryo-Gloves protect against the temperature of liquid oxygen, but not against exposure to liquid oxygen itself.

That is why we wish to caution against the use of the current SPI Supplies product offerings of Cryo-Gloves for liquid oxygen.
