Parafilm® M comes in the sizes 2" , 4" and 20" wide and in the lengths shown on the Parafilm product page. It is primarily used in laboratories to seal beakers and test tubes. In terms of its composition, It is almost a 50-50 split between paraffin wax and polyolefins. The high wax content is the reason that it needs a slip sheet to separate it so it doesn't stick together. It does leave a residue on the container when removed, although slight.
Florist Parafilm® comes in three different colors and is very similar to Parafilm M in terms of its composition except that it contains more of the polyolefin and less of the wax component, and therefore does not need the slip sheet between layers in a roll to prevent undesirable sticking. Rolls are 1/2" and 1" wide.
Parafilm® Grafting tape is almost the same chemical consistency, only it has slightly more Polyolefin and less Paraffin wax. It is clear in color just as Parafilm M and generally would leave less residue in a container. It does not stick as well to the container as Parafilm M. It comes in 1" wide and 1/2" wide. Florist Parafilm is the same as Parafilm Grafting tape, but is colored. Also comes 1" and 1/2 " wide
Floratape® is a crepe paper covered in wax and is used exclusively in the florist and craft markets to cover wires etc in the making of floral wedding bouquets etc. It only stretches as crepe paper would stretch.
