Dielectric properties
There is a difference in dielectric properties between different grades of mica.
Mica in general can have a dielectric strength as high as 10.000 volts per mil. In general,
Grades V-1,V-2 and V-4 will have the same dielectric strength, but as we progress to the lower
qualities, such as V-5, V-6..V-9, these micas contain impurities, such as copper or Iron etc.
These impurities can act as conductors and create dielectric resistance, thus producing variations
which will depend on the type and nature and quantity of the impurity.
