SPI Replicating Tape

The tape makes clear replicas of most surface types; instructions included with each shipment, or if lost, click on "Use Instructions" button below. The product is used primarily for TEM methods on metals, ceramics, and other surfaces that would remain inert in an acetone environment since acetone is used to soften and/or dissolve the tape prior to use. Use thick tape [0.005" (125 µm)] for rough surfaces and for removing larger loose debris particles clinging to the surface. Use thin tape [0.001" (25 µm)] for fine, irregular surfaces. Each roll is 12 feet (3.65 m) x 1 in. (2.54 cm) wide.

Note: "Rolls" are not one continuous ribbon of tape, but the 12 feet can be made up of several shorter lengths.

SPI Replicating Sheets

Used in the replication of surfaces, these cellulose acetate sheets are very easy to use. Simply soften the sheet in acetone and apply to a surface that has been wet with acetone and then when dry, film will generally just strip off. Makes clear replicas of most surface types and is used primarily for TEM replica methods on metals, ceramics and other surfaces that would remain inert in an acetone environment. Use the thick sheets for rough surfaces and for removing (e.g. a cleaning procedure) larger debris particles clinging to the surface. Use the thin sheets for fine, relatively flat surfaces.

SPI Replicating Sheets are 12 x 10 cm in size and come in two different thicknesses: Thin (0.001"/ 25 µm) and Thick (0.005"/125 µm).
