There are 51 positions of which one is a non-functioning Faraday cup (position 30).
Four of the items are simple synthetic binary compounds containing elements which cannot be mounted and polished in the pure metallic state (F, P, Ca, Ga, As, In and Ba)
The other 47 items are all pure elements
Altogether there are 54 distinct elements which can be used for calibration
The Faraday cup position is a blank hole over which could be cemented a molybdenum or platinum aperture to make it function properly (see
