This is a reflected light micrograph of polished, carbon coated Holmium. The identifying etched label, which is a feature of our standards, is invaluable for navigating in an electron beam instrument. This micrograph was taken prior to labelling, so labels are not present in this instance, but examples may be seen on similar material in the Mineral or Metal Standard mounts.
