This is a reflected light micrograph of a polished, carbon coated praseodymium phosphate crystal. The identifying etched label, which is a feature of our standards, is invaluable for navigating in an electron beam instrument. Our quality control has
has found that a shard of glass, presumably adhering to the praseodymium phosphate crystals, has been incorporated in the mount. This has been marked. The stoichiometry of these crystals is outstanding relative to many other rare earth compounds.
This material is sold loose because we have sufficient stock produced locally. The size of the grains can be judged from the photo on the right.
