This is a reflected light micrograph of a polished, carbon coated lanthanum phosphate crystal. The identifying etched label, which is a feature of our standards, is invaluable for navigating in an electron beam instrument.
The stoichiometry of these crystals is outstanding relative to many other rare earth compounds. The high quality polish is an indication of the durability of this material.
This material is sold loose because we have sufficient stock produced locally. The size of the grains can be judged from the photo on the right.
