| While few will notice, on the label of the bottle is stated an "expiration date" which is buried in some Japanese text that few outside of Japan will understand. But we do want to point out that the manufacturer ships fresh product from their stock with perhaps not more than two or three months remaining before the indicated product expiration date. The manufacturer claims that on the expiration date, all warranties for the product also expire. | ![]() |

SPI Supplies purchases stock to last 12 to 24 months and the bottles shipped
could have an expiration date that is as much as two years before our
shipping date to our customer. We have had nearly thirty years of
experience using this product both in our own SEM laboratory as well as
hearing about the experiences of customers using the product in conjunction
with their own SEM applications. We have consistently shipped to customers
this particular silver paint product showing an expiration date that could
have been as much as several years earlier. Yet we have never once seen
even the slightest hint that at least for this application, there is any
reason to suspect that this product does indeed have a shelf life and that
this product is indeed changing, and that there is some time beyond which,
for SEM applications it can not be used.
In any case, if you are a customer with concerns about expiration dates, do not purchase this product from SPI Supplies! We will not accept as a return this product because of a past due expiration date! Quite frankly, we don't understand what could really be "ageing" in this product except possibly some evaporation of the suspending liquid. In any case, if you are concerned about the expiration date, we would recommend selecting either SPI Silver Paint, SPI Flash Dry Silver Paint, SPI Silver Streaker, or SPI Silver Paste Plus. | |
