LEIT-C-Plast™ Conductive Mounting Plastic

This highly conductive and moldable plastic material is designed for mounting large specimens in a SEM, and with far greater confidence, relative to the "paints" and "pastes" so that samples will stay attached if turned up-side-down. The product was originally developed for holding specimens in position on angled mounts.

Characteristics:
LEIT-C-Plast is the mountant of choice for many SEM/EDS samples because of its combination of favorable properties:

High electrical conductivity
Permanent plasticity
Unaffected by high vacuum conditions, also UHV "compatible"
Sufficient adhesive strength
No peaks in energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) spectra except for windowless detectors being able to detect carbon

Density: 1.2 g/cc

Kit contents:
Each kit contains a "roll" of the adhesive, black in color, visible in the accompanying photo. For convenience, the kit also includes two plastic "plates" for "working" with the moldable plastic material.

Refills:
For high volume users, we offer Leit-C-Plast as the polymer only, and without the plastic plates. Each refill box contains two of the Leit-C-Plast rolls, exactly of the type found in the original Leit-C-Plast kit. Total Leit-C-Plast per box: 30 g.

Tempfix™ Mounting Adhesive

A thermoplastic and conductive adhesive resin for mounting powders and small particles without the fear of small particles "sinking" into the adhesive. The product is especially useful for the mounting of dusts, pollen, crystals, critical point dried biological material, just to name a few examples. Tempfix also has applications for use in conjunction with AFM, however one should use caution when using the product this way.

Tempfix is adhesive at 40° C; melting point at 120° C. The product can also be used as an embedding medium. Other useful information if you are thinking about using Tempfix in your work: Characteristics, Accessories required for handling, and Instructions for Use.

Note that each Tempfix "kit" contains the following: A) Two Tempfix adhesive sticks, totalling about 1.5g adhesive per kit, B) 4 aluminum squares, 10 mm on a side, and C) one specimen holder with a single clamping screw.
