Conductive Double Sided Adhesive Sheets, Discs, and Tape
"Stick with SPI" and depend on our products!
This family of sticky adhesives, known for their high tac and vacuum
"compatibility", are in the form of double sided conductive adhesive
products. They were originally developed for those kinds of samples that
could be altered or changed by exposure to the volatile solvents present in
most silver paint products. For example, for the mounting of dry powders,
any of these adhesives could be the adhesive system of choice. They are
also valuable for the mounting of many other samples that could be harmed by
solvent vapors, for example, paper samples, certain textile fabrics, porous
form samples, just to mention a few.
There have been countless innovative applications for these conductive
sheets for the mounting of samples for SEM.
Are there alternatives?
We don't want to talk ourselves out of a sale, but we do want to call attention to alternatives,
such as when fine particles are involved.
Consider the SPI Diamond Planchet SEM mount, which uses the hardness of pure diamond to
literally abrade off a small amount of a surface to be analyzed (ideal for forensic studies).
Or consider the unique wetting properties of the SPI vitreous (glassy) carbon planchets, also
of high purity, when nanoparticle liquid suspensions are involved. And when a minimum of
Bremsstrahlung background radiation can be tolerated, consider the
SPI Supplies® Brand Beryllium Planchets.
