Used for evaporating a combination of platinum and carbon simultaneously, this protocol
generally gives a smaller grain size to the final platinum grains. Both ends of
the rod are drilled, however only one drilled end is used per evaporation.
An end of a platinum/carbon pellet fits into the drilled recess at one end of
a carbon rod, with the other side fitting snuggly against the flat surface
of an opposed carbon rod. Twenty-five(25) rods are supplied per package.
Special note:
We are calling these "carbon" rods, but in reality, they are actually
drilled out graphite rods.
Hole measurements:
The inside "bore" is 2 mm diameter x 2 mm deep.
