Introduction:
We always prefer our customers to be using plastic rather than glass labware whenever possible. We realize that plastic is not for everyone but for many, plastic, relative to glass, has no "downside" but offers the user a substantial safety benefit when holding the cylinder by the specially fabricated "handle". We have chosen polypropylene because of its high resistance to common laboratory solvents. When there is concern about plasticizer and other molecular species leaching out of the plastic, then we would recommend our PTFE labware from which absolutely nothing will be leached out and which is cleaner in that respect than even the best glass.

Handle filled large cylinders more safely:
The handle on a Holdfast™ cylinder provides a secure, solid grip for superior control. We can not guarantee that no one will ever drop a filled cylinder, but certainly, with this solidly built handle, such prospects are greatly reduced. And the result is safer, and a more secure, if not also more convenient pouring.

Details of the Holdfast™ Graduated Cylinders:
The one piece polypropylene cylinder will absolutely not create a meniscus. The "Total Contained, Total Delivered" double scale is accurate and easy to read and the hexagonal base makes the cylinder much more resistant to tipping and rolling.
