A new concept in magnetic stirrers!

Overview:
The complete encapsulation in PTFE to protect against chemical attack is a novel concept. No longer does one have to expose their magnetic stirrers to corrosion, the corrosion product itself being a cause of laboratory particulate contamination. The surface of the PTFE is smooth, thereby making it virtually impossible for anything to "stick" to its outer surface.

The stirrer features a speed display and a reversible spin mode.

The magnetic stirrer is available in both a standard and also a "bio" version for use with fragile tissue samples. The stutter-free motion, at low RPM rates, is especially important for the life scientist working with very fragile tissue samples.

Details of the manufacturing:
The SPI Supplies^® Brand PTFE Encapsulated Magnetic Stirrer is molded from pure virgin PTFE resulting in a highly inert material, one that will stand up to nearly every way one might want to use it.

Cautions about over heating:
PTFE encapsulated magnetic stirrers can not be taken to temperatures as one might with normal "uncoated" magnetic stirrers and the user has to make sure that they are not. If PTFE is overheated, especially in air, it can start to break down by both thermal decomposition and oxidation, resulting in fumes of HF which should not be inhaled under any circumstances.
