1. Set ON-OFF switch to OFF.
2. Plug enlarger into outlet marked ENLARGER.
3. Set TIME-FOCUS switch to FOCUS.
4. Turn ON-OFF switch to ON and focus enlarger. Then turn to OFF again.
5. Set timer hands clockwise to desired setting. Also, set TIME-FOCUS switch to TIME.
6. Turn ON-OFF switch to ON.

1. Plug safelight into outlet marked SAFELIGHT.
2. When TIME-FOCUS switch is set to FOCUS and enlarger is turned on, safelight will be turned off automatically, eliminating any extraneous light.
3. With TIME-FOCUS switch set to TIME and the enlarger if on, safelight is automatically turned off, eliminating shadows when a dodging operation is necessary.
4. When timer hands reach zero automatically turning enlarger off, safelight will automatically turn on providing light for your next operation.
5. You may switch another appliance on after a timed interval by connecting it to the safelight outlet.

• Always set the "seconds" hand (model 171) or "minute" hand (model 170) by rotating clockwise.
• To prevent fire or electrical shock, do not expose to rain or moisture.
• No user serviceable parts inside -- do not open.
• Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
• Observe AC line voltage, frequency and load ratings on nameplate.
