The number of items needed is surprisingly small in number and low in cost. We estimate the average cost per coating to be quite competitive with a
conventional "gold coater"
and the long term operating costs to be substantially less than any alternative system requiring the use of a turbo pump.
Osmium tetroxide ampoules
The recommended "charge" is 0.1 g ampoules. Pre-2000 models made for the Japanese market require a special size ampoule. For units sold in Japan after January 1, 2000, when ordering, be sure to give serial number of unit if in doubt about what size ampoule is required. For all other customers, the "standard" ampoule size is used.
