The SPI Supplies® Coplin Staining Jar is molded from a very tough and break
resistant polypropylene. The domed top with a shallow
threaded screw cap and a base with inside grooves holds up to 10 standard 1 x 3" (25 x 75 cm) slides
back to back or five single slides upright.
The body of the jar is a tapered with internal groves.
This particular grade of polypropylene is resistant to attack by all of the typical staining
agents but will eventually, with some stains, exhibit some discoloration.
With the use of osmium tetroxide, this discoloration will occur sooner
rather than later and might even lead to the need to replace the staining jar altogether.
Unbreakable:
We never like to say "never" but this polypropylene staining jar is about as
indestructible as one can get and should last a very long time. If you
should drop your jar purchased from SPI Supplies and if it does break, SPI
