Emergency overview:
Harmful.  Skin and eye irritant. Harmful if swallowed.  
Risk of serious damage to eyes.

Potential Health Effects

Eye: Causes severe eye irritation. Risk of serious damage to eyes.

Skin: May cause skin irritation.  Possible sensitizer.

Ingestion: May cause gastro-intestinal irritation, accompanied by 
nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.  Harmful if swallowed.

Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation.

Chronic: Possible skin sensitizer.





Section 4: First Aid Measures


Eyes: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, 
holding the eyelids open. Seek medical attention.

Skin: Immediately wash with plenty of soap and water. Flush skin with copious
amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.  If irritation develops or persists 
seek medical attention.  Remove all contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting.  Wash out mouth with water, provided person
is conscious.  If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or 
water.  Seek medical attention.
 

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air immediately.  If not breathing, give artifical
respiration.  If breathing is difficult give oxygen.  Seek medical attention,
especially if cough or other symptoms appear.
 

Notes to Physician: Treat symptomatically and supportively.





Section 5: Fire Fighting Measures


General Information: Wear self contained breathing apparatus MSHA/NIOSH approved 
or equivalent, and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Extinguishing Media: Water spray, CO2, Dry chemical powder, Appropriate foam.

Unusual Fire and Explosive Hazards: Emits toxic Fumes under fire conditions.  
Foam and water spray are effective, but may cause frothing.

General Information: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots 
and heavy rubber gloves.

Spills/Leaks: Absorb on sand, vermiculite, or dry lime/soda ash.   
Pickup, keep in closed container and hold for waste disposal. Ventilate 
area and wash site after material pickup is complete. 

Environmental Precautions: Avoid contaminating water supply.  
Do not allow material to enter drains or water courses.

Handling: Wash thoroughly after handling.  Avoid breating vapor.  
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.  Avoid repeated or prolonged 
exposure.  Use with adequate ventilation.

Storage: Store in tightly closed container in a cool well-ventilated 
area away from incompatible substances.  Do not store in direct sunlight.
