Section 3: Hazard Identification

Emergency overview:
This material is not hazardous by OSHA Hazard Communication
       Definition

Physical Health Hazards:
Dust may form explosive mixtures with air. Molten polymer may
cause thermal burns. Irritating fumes may be produced at elevated
       temperatures.

Physical state: Solid

Color: Black

Odor: None at room temperature

Odor threshold: No data available

Potential Health Effects:

Routes of exposure:

Eye contact, ingestion, skin contact are all highly unlikely.

Signs and Symptoms of Acute Exposure:
Molten polymer may cause thermal burns. At process temperatures,
irritating fumes may cause soreness in the nose and throat,
coughing may result. Mechanical irritation is possible.

Skin contact:
Molten polymer may cause thermal burns

Inhalation:
At process temperatures irritating fumes may be produced.
Inhalation of process fumes may cause soreness in the nose
and throat and coughing. Inhaling Leit-C-Plast dust could be
       irritating.

Eye contact:
Mechanical irritation is possible if the material is abraided
       into a powder.

Ingestion:
       Ingestion is unlikely

Chronic Health Effects Summary:
       No known chronic health effects.

Conditions Aggravated by Exposure:
No known conditions are aggravated by this material.

Section 4: First Aid Measures

Take proper precautions to ensure your own health and safety before
attempting to rescue and providing first aid. For specific information
refer to the Emergency Overview in Section of this MSDS. Good laboratory
hygeine practices should be observed at all times.

Inhalation: If symptoms are experienced, move victim to fresh
air, if symptoms persist, obtain medical attention.

Eye Contact: Wash eyes with clean low-pressure water. If
irritation persists, seek medical advice. This situation
would arise only if the product is abraided into a powder.

Skin Contact: If molten material contacts the skin, immediately
flush the skin with large amounts of water to cool
the affected tissue and polymer. Do not attempt to
peel polymer from skin. Get medical attention
               immediately.

Ingestion: Adverse health effects due to ingestion are not
anticipated. If gastric irritation or discomfort
               persists, seek medical advice.

Section 5: Fire Fighting Measures

Special Conditions to Avoid:
Polyisobutylene dust particles in the atmosphere can be combustible
and may be explosive. Keep away from heat, sparks, flame and all
other ignition sources. Keep container closed. Clean up dust
accumulations. Prevent dust accumulations and dust clouds.

Extinguishing Media:
Small fires: Water, foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder

Fire and Explosure Hazard:
May evolve carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide

Special protective equipment:
         None

Section 6: Accidental Release Measures

Precautionary measures related to people: None

Environmental protective measures: No special requirements.

Methods of cleaning/absorption: Remove mechanically

Section 7: Handling and Storage

Handling:
No special precautions required. Avoid breathing vapors
   when heated.

Storage:
   No special precautions required.

Section 8: Exposure Controls and Personal Protection

Engineering Controls:
If user operations generate dust or fumes, ventilate
    area to prevent accumulation.

Personal protection:

General: Always observe good laboratory hygeine practices.

Eye: Always use safety glasses, even for work with small quantities,
such as the mounting of samples for SEM examination.

Ingredients with threshold limit values to be monitored: None
