Target Organs: Lungs, Nerves
Potential Health Effects
Eye: Irritant. In case of exposure to eye, flush with copious amounts of water
for at least 15 minutes, keeping the eyelid open with fingers. Seek medical attention.
Skin: May cause sensitization. Readily absorbed through skin. In case of skin
contact, flush with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated
clothing and shoes. Seek medical attention.
Ingestion: If conscious, wash out mouth with water. Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: If inhaled, move to fresh air. If breathing becomes difficult,
seek medical attention.
Chronic: Laboratory experiments have resulted in mutagenic effects.
Auto Ignition Temp: 80° C
General Information:
Protective Equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective
clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Special Hazards: Emits toxic fumes under fire conditions. Contact with other
material may cause fire. May accelerate combustion.
Extinguishing Media:
Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or appropriate foam.
General Information:
Evacuate the area. Wear appropriate protective clothing and self-contained
breathing apparatus to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Spills/Leaks:
Sweep up and hold in appropriate container for waste disposal. Avoid raising dust.
Ventilate area and wash spill site with water after material pick-up is complete
Handling:
Do not breathe dust. Avoid eye, skin and clothing contact. Avoid prolonged or
repeated exposure.
Storage:
Store refrigerated recommended.
Keep in tightly closed containers.
Store away from combustible materials, heat, sparks and open flame.
Engineering Controls: Use only in a chemical fume hood. Safety shower and eye bath must be readily available. Wash thoroughly after handling.
