Section 3: Hazard Identification

Emergency overview:
Low hazard for usual industrial handling.
Appearance: Clear, colorless liquid

Flash Point: 193°C

Warning!
Irritant. May cause eye, skin and/or respiratory tract irritation.

Target Organs: Not known

Potential Health Effects:

Eye: May cause eye irritation.

Skin: May cause skin irritation.

Ingestion: Ingestion of large amounts may cause gastro-intestinal
irritation. May cause headache.

Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation.

Chronic: Not known.

Section 4: First Aid Measures

Eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes,
lifting upper and lower eyelids. Seek medical attention if irritation develops.

Skin: Flush skin with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Seek
medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth
with water and drink 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water. Seek medical attention if
irritation or symptoms occur.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial
respiration. If breathing is difficult, supply oxygen. If cough or other
symptoms develop, seek medical attention.

Notes to Physician:
Treat supportively and symptomatically.

Section 5: Fire Fighting Measures

General Information:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear.
Irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by fire conditions.
Vapors may be heavier than air. They can spread along the ground and
collect in low or confined areas. Containers may explode when heated.
Cool fire-exposed containers with water spray.

Extinguishing Media:
Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers. Use water spray, dry
chemical, carbon dioxide, or appropriate foam to extinguish fire.

Flash Point: 193° C
Autoignition Temperature: 400° C
Explosion Limits:
	Lower: 1.1
	Upper: Not known

Section 6: Accidental Release Measures

General Information:
Use appropriate personal protective equipment as listed in Section 8.

Spills/Leaks:
Absorb spill with sand, vermiculite, or other inert material and place in
suitable container for disposal. Avoid water contamination. Remove all
sources of ignition. Provide ventilation.

Section 7: Handling and Storage

Handling:
Wash thoroughly after use. Wash hands before eating. Use with adequate
ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid ingestion
or inhalation. Wash clothing before reuse.

Storage:
Keep container tightly closed. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated
area away from incompatible substances.

Section 8: Exposure Controls and Personal Protection

Engineering Controls:
Use adequate ventilation to keep concentrations below exposure limits.
Eye wash and safety shower must be available.

Exposure Limits:
Chemical Name ACGIH NIOSH OSHA - Final PELs
Glycerine	10 mg/m3 TWA n/a 15 mg/m3 TWA (total dust)
					     5 mg/m3 TWA (respirable dust)

OSHA Vacated PELs:

Glycerine: 10 mg/m3 TWA (total dust); 5 mg/m3 TWA (respirable dust)

Personal Protective Equipment

Eyes: Wear chemical safety goggles as described in OSHA's 20CFR1910.133
or European Standard EN166.

Skin: Avoid skin contact by wearing appropriate protective gloves

Clothing: Wear appropriate protective clothing to minimize skin contact.

Respirators: Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 149 respirator where
exposure limits are exceeded or if irritation or other symptoms develop.
