Target Organs: Eye, the skin, respiratory system
Potential Health Effects
Eye: Causes eye irritation
Skin: Causes skin irritation. May cause allergic skin reaction.
Ingestion: May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting
and diarrhea.
Inhalation: Causes respiratory tract irritation.
Chronic: Repeated contact may cause skin sensitization.
Eyes: In case of eye contact, flush eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention. Skin: Flush skin with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation occurs, seek medical attention. Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If conscious and alert, rinse mouth and drink2 to 4 cupfuls of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek medical attention. Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical attention.
General Information: Flash point: 64°F Explosion Limits Upper: Not available Lower: 1.8 Flammability Classification: IB Wear self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH approved or equivalent, full firefighter protective gear. Vapors may form an explosive mixture with air. Use water spray to keep fire-exposed containers cool. Fire or excessive heat may cause violent rupture of the container due to bulk polymerization. Closed containers may rupture violently when heated. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel to a source of ignition and flash back. Vapors may collect in low or confined areas. Extinguishing Media: Dry chemical, carbon dioxide, water spray, or alcohol-resistant foam. Do not use straight streams of water.
General Information: Remove all ignition sources. Spills/Leaks: Absorb with inert material such as vermiculite or sand, and place in suitable container for disposal. Use non-sparking tool. Avoid runoff into storm sewers or ditches which lead to waterways.
Handling: Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash clothing before reuse. Storage: Store at 4°C in tightly closed containers in flammables area.
Engineering Controls: Use local exhaust ventilation or process enclosures. Eyewash station and safety shower must be available to the work area. Personal Protective Equipment Eyes: Chemical splash goggles and face shield Skin: Latex or equivalent gloves Clothing: Suitable clothing to avoid skin contact Respirators: Where exposure limits may be exceeded, use NIOSH/MHA or European Standard EN 149 approved full-face airline respirator in positive pressure mode.
