Section 3: Hazard Identification

Emergency overview: This product is an oxidizer, corrosive, and dangerous
to the environment. May cause a fire if contacts combustible materials. This product
may cause burns and is harmful if swallowed. Very toxic to aquatic organisms and
may cause long-term effects to aquatic environments.

Appearance: Solid white crystals.

Flash Point: None.

Potential Health Effects

Eye: Contact may cause burns.

Skin: This product may be absorbed by the skin. May cause burns.

Ingestion: This product may cause severe gastroenteritis that can be fatal.
Harmful if swallowed.

Inhalation: This product may cause severe damage of mucous membranes
or upper respiratory tract. Harmful if inhaled.

Chronic: Exposure may lead to the formation of methemoglobin, which can
cause cyanosis. May cause argyria, burning sensations, coughing, wheezing, 
laryngitis, headache, shortness of breath, nausea, or vomiting. Chronic inhalation
may lead to spasms, inflammation/edema of larynx and bronchi, chemical pneumonitis,
or pulmonary edema. This product is extremely harmful to tissue, mucous membranes,
upper respiratory tract, skin, and eyes.



Section 4: First Aid Measures

Eyes: Immediately flush with running water for at least 15 minutes while
holding eyes open. Check for and remove contact lenses. Seek medical attention.

Skin: Flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated
clothing and launder before reuse. Seek medical attention.

Ingestion: If conscious, administer 2-4 glasses of water. Do not induce 
vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately.

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If breathing is difficult or labored,
administer oxygen and seek medical attention. 

Notes to Physician: Treat supportively and symptomatically.

General Information: Always wear full protective equipment including self 
containing breathing apparatus.

Spills/Leaks: Wear appropriate protective equipment. Contain the spill and
avoid raising dust particles. Soak up spill with absorbent material and place in 
appropriate disposal container.

Handling: Always wear protective equipment appropriate to the task. Avoid
contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Always use adequate ventilation, avoid 
breathing dust and prolonged exposure. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.


Storage: Store closed containers away from flames or other sources of 
ignition. Keep away from combustible materials. Keep out of the reach of children.

fume hood with adequate ventilation. Safety shower and eye wash stations should
be readily available in work area.
