       Target organ(s): Liver

Personal protection:
Wear approved protective clothing when working with this material
in order to avoid any contact with material at all. Long sleeves
and/or lab coat are recommended to protect against skin contact.
Approved chemical goggles are recommended to protect against eye

Routes of exposure

           Eye contact, ingestion, skin contact

Signs and Symptoms of Acute Exposure:

Eye and skin irritation; ingestion, not known.

Chronic Health Effects Summary:

           Not known.

Conditions Aggravated by Exposure:

No known conditions are aggravated by this material.

Section 4: First Aid Measures

Take proper precautions to ensure your own health and safety before
attempting to rescue and providing first aid. For specific information
refer to the Emergency Overview in Section of this MSDS.

Inhalation: If symptoms are experienced, move victim to fresh
             air, and obtain medical attention.

Eye Contact: Wash eyes with copious amounts low-pressure water,
removing contact lenses if possible. Then seek medical advice
              from a qualified physician.

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing, then rinse skin thorough
with soap and water to remove all traces of the substance.

Ingestion: Adverse health effects due to ingestion to be expected.
Wash out mouth with water but never give liquids to an
unconscious person. Call a physician at once and seek other
               medical attention.

Section 5: Fire Fighting Measures

NFPA Rating: Not known

Flammability classification:

         Not known.

Flash Point/Method: Not applicable

Auto-Ignition Temperature: Not known

Flammable Limits: Lower: Not applicable
                   Upper: Not applicable

Hazardous Combustion Products:

Selenium and selenium oxides. One can also expect the emission
of other toxic fumes under fire conditions.

Special Conditions to Avoid:

Strong oxidizing agents, moisture, oxygen/air, strong acids

Extinguishing Media:

Fires: Use dry chemicals, CO2, water spray, or appropriate foam.

Fire Fighting Instructions:

Protective Equipment/Clothing: Wear a NIOSH approved positive
pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and firefighter
turnout gear. Wear long sleeves and chemical goggles for eye

Instructions: Use flooding quantities of water until well after
fire is out. If the product now wet with water starts to migrate
to other areas or even to the outside environment, dike it at once
         to prevent that from happening.

Section 6: Accidental Release Measures

Release response:

Wear NIOSH approved respirator, chemical safety goggles,
rubber boots, and heavy rubber gloves. Sweep up wet product,
place in a bag and hold for waste disposal. If product is
tending to flow away from fire or spill area, try to dike the
material to keep in one place. If a broom is used, remember
that the broom, when dried out, will contain powder of the
product and if the broom is put into continued use without proper
cleaning, then a hazardous dust cloud could be created. Ventilate
area and wash spill site after pick up is complete.

Reportable Quantities: See Section 15: Regulatory information.

Section 7: Handling and Storage

Use full protective gear as described above.

Storage: Keep container dry. Store away from excessive heat
and away from strong oxidizing agents and moisture. Keep container closed
to prevent contamination.

Section 8: Exposure Controls and Personal Protection

Engineering Controls: If user operations generate dust or fumes,
ventilate area to prevent accumulation.

Personal Protection:

Inhalation: Use appropriate respiratory protection at all
times. If product is to be used as part of a vacuum deposition process,
we would recommend that all vacuum pumps be vented to the outdoors, in
order to avoid any possible release of Se compounds into the laboratory

Skin: Protective clothing such as long sleeves or a lab coat
should always be worn. When handling heated materials, also be sure
to use heat-resistant gloves, boots and chemical goggles.

Eye: Always use chemical goggles, even for work with small
quantities, such as the loading of a tungsten basket or boat prior to
making a deposition of the material.
