Section 3: Hazard Identification

Emergency overview

May cause eye, skin, and respiratory irritation. May cause skin sensitization.

Flash point: 302° F (cc)

Potential Health Effects

Eye: May be irritating to eyes.

Skin: May be irritating to skin. May cause rash, itching, or dermititis.
May cause skin sensitization.

Ingestion: May cause irritation of throat, mouth, or gastrointestinal
tract. May cause diarrhea or nausea.

Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation if inhaled.

Chronic: May cause skin sensitization, rash or dermititis.

Section 4: First Aid Measures

Eyes: In case of eye contact, flush with copious amounts of water for at
least 15 minutes holding the eyes open. Seek medical attention.

Skin: In case of skin contact, flush with copious amounts of water.
Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. If irritation develops,
seek medical attention.

Ingestion: Adverse health effects due to ingestion are not anticipated.
If gastric irritation or discomfort persists, seek medical advice.

Inhalation: If symptoms are experienced, move victim to fresh air, if
symptoms persist, obtain medical attention.

Notes to Physician: Treat supportively and symptomatically.

Section 5: Fire Fighting Measures

Flash Point: 302° F (cc)
Explosion Limits:
    Upper: N/A
    Lower: N/A
Autoignition Temperature: N/A

General Information: Wear full protective equipment including self
containing breathing apparatus.

Extinguishing Media: Carbon dioxide, foam, or dry chemical.

Hazardous Combustion Products: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, phenolics.

Section 6: Accidental Release Measures

Release response:
Absorb with inert material. Vacuum or otherwise pick up and retain for
recycle or disposal. Do not flush spilled material to the sewer or the
environment. Avoid creating a dust cloud since this could create an a
potential for a dust explosion hazard. Use vacuum equipment designed
    especially for handling combustible dust.

Section 7: Handling and Storage

Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing. Keep away from food
and drink.

Storage: Store in closed containers in cool dry area.

Section 8: Exposure Controls and Personal Protection

Engineering Controls: Forced air ventilation. Safety shower and eye wash
station required in work area.

Exposure Limits:

Personal Protective Equipment: Engineering Controls:

If user operations generate dust or fumes, ventilate area to
prevent accumulation.

Personal Protection:

Inhalation: Use appropriate respiratory protection where
                      atmosphere exceeds recommended limits.

Skin: Protective clothing such as long sleeves or a lab
coat should be worn. When handling heated materials,
also be sure to use heat-resistant gloves, boots and
face protection. Such precautions are of course not
necessary for the use of small quantities such as in
an electron microscope laboratory. Neoprene or nitrile gloves
                recommended.

Eye: Always use safety glasses, even for work with small
quantities, such as the making Formvar filmed grids.

Hygienic Practices: Wash thoroughly after using and before eating, drinking,
smoking, or using the restroom. Remove and launder contaminated clothing.
