Rods

Glassy carbon is offered in rod form, in both grades and in a variety of lengths and a variety of diameters. This is the same material that is sometimes called "vitreous" carbon, not to be confused with what are called "carbon rods".

Glassy carbon rods:
The standard length of the rods is 10 mm, however, we can supply the material in lengths, on special order, up to 200 mm. The pricing for such "special order" lengths will be the same price as the standard length, adjusted for the increase in length proportionately plus a premium charge for the special order of 10%. Special order items can not be placed via the shopping cart and should be order more "conventionally", such as by FAX.

Note: When placing orders for lengths greater than 10 mm, there has to be added a special packaging cost for the packaging system that will ensure that the glassy rods will arrive unbroken. Usually we rely on the membrane box system for the shipment so there has to be included in the cost calculations the purchase of an appropriate sized membrane box.
