SPI Ringed Specimen Mount

Use for the mounting of samples of extreme fragility where no wet paint or adhesive can come in contact

Introduction:
There are times when conventional methods for the mounting of SEM samples can not be employed. For example, samples of paper, fabrics, and certain porous systems can easily "wick up" the liquid from silver paint or even silver paste and in the process, the sample in permanently changed and micrographs of the sample product artifact effects.

There are other instances, such as the examination of one-of-a-kind forensic samples that can not even be affixed with one of our carbon tape products because when the fragile sample would be removed, it could be stretched or distorted for the next viewer.

The solution:
The SPI Supplies "ringed SEM specimen mount" is a solution for these kinds of problem samples because the sample is restrained physically with the ring and when the time comes to remove the special or highly fragile sample from the mount, the screws are removed, the ring lifted off and the sample can be retrieved in a completely unaltered state, save except for any coating that might have been applied.

Aluminum (T-2024 alloy)
