Introduction:
The SPI-Glas™ Glassy Carbon Crucibles, Tapered Type "K", are cylindrical in shape and with a flat bottom. If you contemplate using a glassy carbon crucible, before you place an order, you should be familiar with some of the extensive information we have accumulated relative to the use of glassy carbon crucibles generally and the SPI-Glas Glassy Carbon Crucibles specifically.

Precaution:
The SPI-Glas™ Brand Glassy Carbon Crucibles should never be used for the melting of chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloys. Similarly, they should not be used for melting anything that easily carbides, for example silicon or tungsten.
