SPI Forensic SEM Mounts

Use when the examination must be done totally nondestructively!

Designed for those special court-important samples when non-destructive testing is an absolute must. A special conductive carbon foam layer grips the sample in place, eliminating the need to use potentially destructive adhesives like silver or carbon paints, sticky tapes, or other adhesives. Additionally the carbon foam support is sufficiently conducive so that most samples need no further treatment (e.g. gold or carbon coating is not necessary). Note, that while the carbon sponge substrate is not spectroscopically pure, it is essentially free of impurities or other contaminants that might cause major x-ray lines.

SPI's special carbon foam substrate material is available on aluminum mounts or on spectroscopically pure carbon mounts.

**Note: Please Specify required mount size/instrumentation when ordering. If not other SPI# and specimen mount is mention, then the mounts will arrive as indicated above, on a 1" (25.4 mm) round mount base, which will fit the standard "metallographic" mount holder standard with virtually any SEM in the world today.
