These mounts were very popular in the 1970's when the first commercially manufactured FESEMs were introduced by the then Coates & Welter Company. There are not many of these old SEMs still running however those that are indeed still running seem to have very happy owner with no real plans for "retirement" (of the faithful old SEM).

We no longer have any of the lathe finish aluminum mounts but we do have still in our stock, some of the spectroscopically pure carbon mounts for those doing EDS analyses.
