PEAK^® Light Loupes - Flashlight Style

Illuminated Flashlight Magnifiers: We present the PEAK® family of "flashlight magnifiers", a combination of a high quality magnifying glass coupled to a light source, in three different styles. All three are light weight, and just the ideal kind of device for someone wanting to examine a photo or micrograph without having to "turn on the lights" to read or see something of importance. The construction is of high impact polystyrene, we won't guarantee that it won't break if dropped, but we ourselves have seen many times these magnifiers surviving a drop to the floor without breaking. The light source of all three units requires two standard 1.5 volt Type C (in some countries: UM-2) batteries, not supplied with the unit.
Another option is the SPI Supplies® Brand of flashlight style illuminated magnifiers featuring with a unique high (light output) LED light source. In emergencies, use as an ordinary flashlight by detaching the easily detachable lens. #1987 Light Loupe 3.5X This magnifying glass, with its large square lens 50 mm on a side and an illuminating device, enables electron microscope users (who usually work in the dark anyhow) to examine negatives or even prints right there by their microscope. But this fine optical instrument can just as well be used by hikers or even divers to read a map at night. So whether it is a high resolution electron micrograph or a faded hikers map, this particular light loupe has applications that are very broad.
The frame is constructed from high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and which is known for its good long term dimensional stability. It is reasonably "tough" because of its rubber modifier, and is surprising robust, even when accidentally dropped. This product obviously does not have the ability to accommodate a reticle (measuring scale). In emergencies, use as an ordinary flashlight by detaching the easily detachable lens. Power requirements: The light source requires two standard 1.5 volt Type C (in some countries: UM-2) batteries, not supplied with the unit.

#1966 Light Loupe 10X This lupe is actually an improved version of an earlier design, and in addition to applications in and around the electron microscope laboratory environment, it has wide ranging applications wherever there is the mean for fine measurements or observation in conditions of subdued or no light. The 10X lupe is powerful optically, it is convenient to carry around because of its light weight, and the solid metal construction shields the hard plastic holder, which in turn protects the lens. While it was designed for use in low or no light situations, in full light environments, it can still be used, but there is no need to use it in the flashlight mode. Note that this magnifier is just a magnifier and does not take a reticle and can not be converted to a measuring magnifier.

#2023 Light Loupe 15X Like the other lupes on this page, the 15X flashlight magnifier is handcrafted and precision manufactured. Again, for microscopists working in the dark, you could not find a handier tool to be carrying around, which, because of it very light weight and small size, make it extremely convenient. Of course, for those outdoors, hiking, diving, to name just several, a magnification of this size can be very helpful. Note that this fine loupe can not accommodate a reticle (e.g. scale).
