SPI Supplies^® Brand Glass Microscope Slides

The SPI Supplies brand of borosilicate glass microscope slides are manufactured from the highest quality "water clear" glass sheets commercially available. They are cut to size using close tolerances on the dimensions. And the glass is subjected to industry standard annealing treatments to increase the robustness of the edges and minimize chipping of the edges.

The SPI Supplies brand of glass microscope slides are precleaned for immediate use, and usually without the need for further cleaning by our customers.

Choose between economical plastic slide storage boxes or wooden storage boxes for long term storage.

All glass microscope slides with time can develop a condition called "glass corrosion". This occurs when the surfaces start to take on a slightly discolored and frosted appearance. This is a characteristic of all microscope slides. So far as we know, there is nothing in the way of storage conditions that can forestall that phenomenon. That is why we suggest not purchasing slides in quantities that larger than what you are likely to use in one year's time. We want to make clear that the SPI Supplies microscope slides are no different in this respect than anyone else's slides.

Also slides have been known to "stick together" and pose challenging problems in terms of separating them. Again, this is a generic problem with all glass microscope slides. We offer some suggestions for their separation.
